Rebecca Bauer (she/they) is a performer based out of Tkaronto (Toronto), represented by 10 Talent Management. Recently, Rebecca achieved full ACTRA membership, appearing on such TV shows as Gen V and Fellow Travelers. She has also performed on stages around the world, including Montreal’s Segal Centre, Germany’s Figuren Theatre, and Toronto’s Hart House Theatre.

With an ambition for artistic growth and expansion, Rebecca strives to receive well rounded training from across North America. Recently, they completed several On Camera Method Intensives with Jane Moffat, and a Viewpoints & Suzuki Intensive at SITI Company NYC. In addition, they continue to enjoy countless hours of contemporary musical theatre & pop vocal lessons with Julia McLellan (Coaching with Julia) and Grace Chermak (Matt Farnsworth Vocal Studio).

Originally from Odawa (Ottawa), Rebecca’s performance training began in the Specialized Drama Program at Canterbury High School. Upon graduating with distinction, she moved to TiohtiΓ :ke (Montreal) to attend the Theatre Performance program at Concordia University (BFA, 2018). Rebecca’s journey at Concordia involved foundational vocal training and extensive physical theatre training, including obtaining her Beginner’s Stage Combat Certificate. A high water mark of her degree work involved participating in a theatre exchange in Germany. This experience provided her with 6 months worth of specialized performance training from German theatre practitioners, and culminated in a collective creation piece entitled Rinse-Wash-Repeat.

Rebecca is incredibly passionate about projects that challenge them in their discipline and confront contemporary themes in courageous ways. At the heart of her discipline, she believes that theatre and film play an important role in bridging the disconnects from one person to the next. Their artistic approach strives to create and maintain feminist, anti-racist, mentally/physically sustainable creative spaces, which actively breakdown harmful stigmas, stereotypes, and norms.

Alongside performing, Rebecca collaborates in the devising of new Canadian theatre pieces. She is a proud alumni of the Nightwood Innovators Program at Nightwood Theatre, Young Creator’s Unit at Playwrights’ Workshop Montreal, Beats + Intentions Unit at Expect Theatre, and the Emerging Artist Roundtable at Theatre Gargantua. One of Rebecca’s most meaningful original creations to date has been their solo clown show entitled I HEART BOOMER, which they performed at the Montreal Clown Festival.

When not performing or training, you can find Rebecca crafting cards for friends, writing a song on the piano, or trying to top her bouldering record.
